Who we are
CityGreen Connect is built and operated by CityGreen Consulting, a California solid waste consulting firm that has worked with local governments since 1991. Questions about this notice or your information go to info@citygreenconsulting.com.
Information you give us on this website
You can read this website without telling us who you are. When you request a demo or consultation, the form asks for your name and email address, and you can add your jurisdiction or agency, your role, a phone number and a message.
- What we keep — the details you enter, the page you sent the request from, and your browser’s user-agent string.
- How we use it — to reply to you, schedule a demo, and keep a record of our conversations with your agency.
- Email — we send one confirmation when you submit the form, then reply from our own mailboxes. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask.
Information collected automatically
This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. A few services still receive basic technical information when your browser contacts them:
- Hosting — our hosting providers receive your IP address and browser details with each request, as any web host does, and keep short-lived logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Spam protection — the demo form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at browser and device signals to tell people from automated bots. We also use your IP address briefly to limit repeated submissions; it is not stored with your request.
- Fonts — pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
Information in the CityGreen Connect platform
The platform at app.citygreenconnect.com is used by California cities, counties and special districts, the haulers and consultants they work with, and CityGreen staff to run SB 1383 programs. It holds:
- Account information — each user’s name, email address, role and agency, with sign-in and activity records kept for security and as an audit trail.
- Program records — information agencies and haulers enter about the businesses and properties they regulate, such as contact names, phone numbers, addresses, inspection notes and photos.
- Public forms — complaints, waiver applications and self-haul permits that members of the public submit to their local agency, including the contact details and attachments in them.
Whose information it is
We process platform information on behalf of the agency that uses the platform, under its agreement with us. The agency decides what is collected and how long it is kept, and records it holds may be subject to the California Public Records Act. Questions about information in an agency’s records should go to that agency; we will help it respond.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not give it to other companies for their own marketing. We share it only:
- With service providers — who host the website and database, deliver email, protect forms from spam, and provide maps and address lookup (Esri ArcGIS), and with an agency’s own Microsoft SharePoint when the agency connects it to store documents.
- With the agency it belongs to — platform records are available to the agency that owns them and to the people it authorizes.
- When the law requires it — to comply with legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of people and systems.
How long we keep it
We keep demo and consultation requests for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of our relationship with your agency, and we delete them sooner if you ask. Platform records are kept for as long as the agency’s agreement and its own records-retention rules require.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information you gave us through this website by emailing info@citygreenconsulting.com. We will confirm the request comes from you and then respond.
Because this website does not track visitors across other websites, it does not change how it works when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. If we add tools that would track visitors, we will update this notice first and honor Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each user to the records their agency authorizes, and audit logs. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website and the platform are meant for government agencies, their contractors and the businesses they regulate. They are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this notice
When we change this notice, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will describe it here before it takes effect.
